Makani Networks Videos Demos now on YouTube

 

This video demonstrates how Makani Networks Inc. product performs “on-the-fly” video compression and adaptation during web video clip downloads. Without the Makani Mobile Web platform, a compressed 3.2MB MPEG video file takes approximately 56 seconds to download over a rate-shaped mobile connection. With the Makani Mobile Web Internet Platform, the same MPEG file is dynamically transcoded and compressed even further, but without any perceptual degradation, to result in a 1.4MB compressed MPEG video file size that takes only 27 seconds to download. Makani Web platform also accelerates web transport protocol TCP/IP connections. Browser cache and browser mem cache were disabled during the tests. Each experiment used the same rate-shaped mobile network.

Results: On average between 50-80% web video adaptation and 2X-10X Web video speed up that’s Makani!

 

This video demonstrates how Makani Networks Inc. product performs “on-the-fly” web compression and acceleration during web downloads. Without the Makani Mobile Web platform, Expedia.com web page takes more than 160 seconds to download over a rate-shaped mobile connection.

With the Makani Web Internet Platform, the same web page is dynamically compressed and takes _less_than_ 24 seconds to download. Compression is performed for both fixed (e.g., html,css) and variable fidelity (e.g., jpg, png) web objects. The Makani Web platform also accelerates and shapes web transport protocol TCP connections. Browser cache and browser mem cache were disabled in these tests. Each experiments used the same rate-shaped mobile connection.

Results: On average between 40-80% web content compression and between 2X-20X speed up for different web pages that’s Makani!
